Seriously. Birds were singing, tulips were in perfect bloom, sun was shining..
Kathy and her friends and family were laughing as they got ready for the day… And Jason. Jason was smiling and cheers-ing with friends and family at North High Brewery. Kathy was truly stunning. And Jason. So handsome. She walked across a garden bridge to see her happy, soon-to-be husband for the first time that day. They kissed. And he held her close. Then she walked down the aisle with her dad. And they walked back together, hand-in-hand and happy. The fine folks at the Boathouse let me climb their tree to get these shots. Jason spun his beautiful bride on the dance floor while she sang to him. They kissed as the stars and the lights of the city began to shine. They had a beautiful, wonderful day in love, and they shared it with all their friends and family. The stuff of dreams. Everything you could hope for in a wedding day!
Jason woke up with the stomach flu that morning. No joke. For the first time in ten years. Can a math person figure out the odds on that for me? Because they’ve got to be astounding. But would you ever have known it from all those pictures up there? Well, ok, minus the one right directly up there. Seriously, this guy was a TROOPER. Most of the wedding guests didn’t even know. He powered on through that day. Took breaks from pictures to throw up in the gardens and then pop a mint. Poor, poor guy! And Kathy stayed cool as ever through the whole thing, offering sympathy and love and understanding. THAT, my friends, is what tells me these two will hold each other’s hands for a lifetime. Not just the way they look in each other’s eyes or the way they pull in so close when they hug. It’s the way she looked at him when he was sick on their wedding day, and the way he carried on through the day going on what his heart felt, not what his body felt. THAT is beauty, right there. THAT is love.
So grateful to have witnessed a love like this. Kathy and Jason, thank you for allowing me to share in and document your day.
