a superman/ninja turtle newborn protection force

I say it all the time, I know, but I LOVE getting to know families.  Amazing families with real love and mess and joy and life.  Families who are not only ok with their kid picking his nose in a picture, but who laugh and rejoice in it and love that image.  Families who allow me to come into their lives for a little bit during some of the hardest and most beautiful transitions.  Families who are cool with me standing on their bed in my bare feet.

I’ve been lucky to get to know these mamas and their oldest since I photographed their wedding a few years ago.  And when they contacted me about photographing their new one, I literally squealed out loud.  It is a true joy to share time with them – I love how they just open up and get real (plus, there’s always laughing, which is glorious).  Superman here, is a most incredible big brother.  Seriously.  He came over to comfort every time he heard so much as a tiny little peep from his baby brother.  So amazing.  This next one makes me smile every time.  I hope they pull this one out at graduation time.  Oh, the love!  He really, really loves to have his hands up by his face.    And then, as we were all settling in for some sweetness, here came a ninja turtle invading their house with his ninja moves… Protecting his baby brother, of course.I love these guys.  There’s nothing more to be said, really.  Just love you.  Thank you for allowing me a glimpse into your new lives!
