If you happened to read my last post, you know that in my life, January and February tend to be the most boring months (although in our family, these winter months can be made quite a bit more exciting with the celebrating of Chinese New Year). I try not to complain about the weather, because really, how’s that going to help anything? But winter’s just not my fav, and I count down the days until spring. The fact that spring was supposed to start a week ago, and here we are with snow today, is not helping much. But then again, I know that in a few months we’ll all be complaining about how downright blazing hot it is.
I am hoping to start doing a blog post each Monday with an image or two from daily life. I’m not in on any of the “what _____ looks like” or “on the 10’s” or 365 projects like so many photographers do. I love watching those unfold, and would love to do that someday soon, but I feel like that’s just really pushing it to have that kind of a monthly, weekly, or daily time commitment in my life right now. I’m not promising that I’ll stick with this Monday idea, but I’m surely going to try. This will push me in two ways: 1. helping me remember to photograph the little things in life, and 2. pushing myself to put my work out there. And I’m writing this right now so you can hold me responsible!!!
And so today, I’ll play some catch up by sharing our February with you. It was filled with kid fashion sensibilities, dancing in the kitchen, Chinese New Year celebrations, princess bowling, trapeze class (this one was me, and no pictures are available), and waking up to find a band of dinosaurs, animals, and a plastic kid guarding our front door. What more could you ask for, really?
